Writes on flash disks are inherently muchslowerthan reads because of the erase-before-write mechanism. To address this asymmetryof read-write speeds in tree indexing on the flash disk, a tree index namedFD-tree is proposed. It designed with the logarithmic method and fractionalcascading techniques. In this paper, it introduces the details of the FD-tree.
